Spicy Tuna Bibimpap

Ingredients

For the Bibimbap Sauce

  • 2 tbsp gochujang
  • 1 tbsp liquid honey
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp minced garlic
  • ½ tsp soy sauce

For the Bibimbap Bowl

  • 1 can (170g) Ocean’s Chunk Light Tuna, drained
  • 1 tbsp finely sliced green onions, plus more for garnish
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds, plus more for garnish
  • 1 cup steamed short grain rice, barley, quinoa or grain of your choice
  • ¼ cup carrot cut into a julienne
  • ¼ cup finely shredded cabbage
  • ¼ cup beansprouts
  • ¼ cup kimchi
  • 1 small Japanese cucumber cut into a julienne
  • Fried egg (optional)

Directions

  1. To make the bibimbap sauce, simply combine all ingredients in a small mixing bowl and whisk until smooth.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine drained Ocean’s Chunk Light Tuna with 2 tbsp bibimbap sauce, 1 tbsp green onions and 1 tsp sesame seeds and gently mix.
  3. To assemble the bibimbap bowl, start by adding the rice or grain of your choice.
  4. Overtop, arrange neat piles of carrots, cabbage, bean sprouts, kimchi, cucumber and the dressed tuna.
  5. If desired, top with a fried egg and garnish with extra sesame seeds and green onions.
